Looking northward along the fence line at Calico Ghost Town (a former Route 66 adventure park - OK, slightly OFF 66 adventure park) whose heyday was in the late 1880's when the Maggie Silver Mine was in full operation. Total take in silver: $65,000 (in 188o's dollars). In it's prime (1888), Calico boasted a bustling population of 1,200. Today... not quite a ghost town as there are 8 - yes, 8 - residents of the town.
